On March 2, 2022 a wildfire burned about 3 acres of land at Heartsong Retreat Center. The three newer cabins were destroyed. The Shrine, bathhouse, dining hall and tea house are all ok. Thankfully neighbors responded and fought the fire until the Forest Service and volunteer fire departments arrived to contain it. An escaped brush fire was the cause.
This tragedy is a loss for the community and a set back for developing the retreat center. However the core buildings remain so we can still have events with camping. Heartsong Retreat Center has a 35 year history and has been a blessing for many people, so we intend to continue.
Please keep Heartsong in your prayers. We appreciate your continued support and participation.
We have scheduled spring events for Saturday afternoons on the following dates.
- Sat., April 16 noon potluck 1-3 pm Zikr music and dance – Easter Celebration
- Sat., May 21 noon potluck 1-3 pm Zikr music and dance
- Sat., June 25 Annual Solstice Celebration – noon potluck followed by dancing etc. An open board meeting will be held with a focus on future planning for Heartsong Retreat Center.
As the pandemic fades we hope that people can gather safely and resume our group practices. Heartsong provides lots of space for outside events and social distancing. We want to respect each persons need to feel safe. Some people say they will continue wearing masks. Even at a distance we can continue our journey toward the one.
Please join us at Heartsong April 16, May 21 , and June 25th! All are welcome…
