Heartsong Retreat Center shrine
Hello Beloveds,

May Autumn’s cooling breeze bring insight and grace to all of your lives. Breath upon Breath in this mystery called life as the seasons cycle around yet again. This Autumn season brings many of us to the Lake of the Ozarks for Shining Heart Ozark Sufi Camp – to be held October 5-9. As we prepare for that and make room for other holidays and gatherings, the schedule at Heartsong will be a bit shifted for September – and we will not be meeting at Heartsong that first weekend of October as many community members will be at the camp.

More info on the camp is at this link – Earlybird discounts are available through September 12th.

We will take the upcoming holiday weekend as a pause in our Labors and meet on the second weekend instead. So, please join us at Heartsong on Saturday, September 8th at 5:30 pm for a shared potluck meal followed at 7:30 by a Gatha class, practices, zikr and dance in the shrine. This will be our only gathering at Heartsong for this month.

Don Kitz Studio Tour

The following weekend, that of September 15th-17th will be the date for the annual Newton County studio tour. Please make plans to drop by and see Murshid Khabir’s beautiful works of art at his studio adjacent to the Heartsong grounds, and if you are in the Mt. Sherman area, you are welcome to come visit my exhibit space at the studio of Merlyn Lazarow – More info on website. Hours are 10-5 all three days.

Now after all that, what better to leave you all with than a sweet quote by our man, Rumi. much much love, -Habiba

“And still, after all this time, the Sun has never said to the Earth,
“You owe me.”
Look what happens with love like that.
It lights up the sky.”
― Rumi
